I forgot to post my last meme! The 9 year old did this one. It's marvelous!

Fall is Fantastic!!!

Five little pumpkins, sitting on a gate.
The first one said, "Oh my! It's getting late!"
The second one Said, "There are witches in the air!"
The third one said, "But we don't care!"
The fourth one said, "Let's run and run and run!"
The fifth one said, "I'm ready for some fun!"
Whoosh went the wind, and out went the lights
The five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

To be honest, that little poem I have stuck in my head amidst the paraphernalia stuck from my misspent youth is probably 7 pumpkins instead of 5. Don't tell anyone! Particularly my mother. Hi mom!

I had this thing for a few days where I decided to take a photo of every sunrise and sunset for a year. Yeah. A year is a lot longer than a few days, but I forget that sometimes. Anyway, life is crazy, things are hopping, and I'm kind of dizzy with all the things I'm not doing. Pile of laundry on the couch, I'm talking to you!

Anyway. I hope you're fall is fantastic and you don't have to sew five Halloween costumes this week.

Peek A BOO!!!

It's HERE!!!!!! So happy about it!!!!

Well, the day has come that we've all been waiting for, the day Butcher Baker goes out into the world on wings of darkness, a wind of mystery, a shadow of romance and of course, a lot of baked goods. I'm not going to lie. Every time I worked on this book I wept from the shocking lack of baked goods in my life right now. We have a bread maker, but no oven. I wanted to have a baked good party for this release, maybe I will later, after out kitchen is finished. I have faith that it will happen. Some day.

Anyway, I would like to encourage everyone who has read Butcher Baker to leave an honest review so that I can break the 10 review limit that most promo sights require before they put up your books. I would love to be able to do a promo while it was still fall.

This blurb bit was written by my lovely 11 year old. I made all the literate members of my family do one, so the 9 year olds is coming up, maybe tomorrow if I have time.

Things I've been doing.

Beading and embroidering for this fantastic ballgown. We must make these from time to time. Yes. I'm doing these for covers. I think I really like to write, just so that I can dress people up and take pictures of them in bizarre clothing. Beautiful.

Also cabinets. Yes, I'm finished with the first half of them. Yay! And they are as deliciously gorgeous as I hoped they'd be. :D

Also field trips with kids, pumpkins, etc. and formatting. OH!!!! The paperback of Water gambit is live! You can buy it here!!!!!

unglazed but perfectly pretty.

left is glazed, right is just the paint. Oh how I love the glaze, let me count the ways...
In process. It's like a glorious oil painting. Because, er, it is.

My painting clothes. And gloves. And hair. I should have pulled it back first. I kept having to fish hairs out of my paint.

Working on my beading project during General Conference.

My name in lights. (light pen at the kid's museum)

My hair after I took it out of the braids. And chocolate.

The kids were all screaming and hammered and I'm just chill like, 'my hearing is going and it doesn't bother me, scream all you want.' ;)

This is the bodice of the dress for my cover of Hotblood. I love it so much. I want it. Does it need more beads? Hmmm

Leaves in the pond because it's FALL!!!

I love the stem on this gourd.

Got my mums planted. :)

Pre-Order Butcher, Baker, Vampire Slayer, A retelling of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night

After a freak accident with escaped tigers, newly orphaned Violetta Tancetta is left in a city which teems with werewolves, vampires, and zombies. Unaware of the danger, all she knows is that her twin brother is throwing away his future when he decides to drop out of the elite all boy school he’s been attending, and she isn’t going to let him do it, even if it means taking his place.

When eighteen-year-old, Violetta Tancetta goes undercover as her brother, she has no idea that Calder, School for Boys isn’t only for rich, prissy boys, but also the premier training ground for the next generation of Butchers, or those trained to slaughter vampires, werewolves, and anything else that goes bump in the night.

Her plans get complicated when she gains the friendship and respect of the greatest Butcher of them all, wickedly handsome Orion who constantly threatens the security of her male identity.

Writerly Wednesday: Water Lost (Watergirl 3)

Water Lost
It begins...
The scent of Sean, seaweed and spice, filled my nostrils while the rest of the world hovered on the periphery of my sleep.
I woke with a start, taking deep, trembling breaths as I fought against the nightmare, swirling water, pulling me down and down and down. I ran my hands through my hair, damp and snarled from sweat. When I swung my legs out of bed, I smoothed the t-shirt over my thighs, ‘Sean, Sean, he’s all brawn’ in big blue letters over the white knit fabric.
My hands caught on the fabric, my palms rough with callouses and broken blisters from hanging onto the bars. My breath hitched before I closed my eyes and focused on breathing. I had nothing to be afraid of in my room, books and clothes kicked to the edges of the floor, my computer piled with headphones, midi keyboard and other musical apparatus. The quilt was cheerful, happy like the sun shining in my window, the first sunny morning in a week.
I swallowed hard and stood, unable to push back the panic. I needed Sean. A few months ago I would have called him, but I didn’t have to, not when he was sleeping in my living room. I grabbed my oversize sweat pants off the floor and tugged them on as I hopped across the floor. I would sneak down and see him, sprawled across the couch, feet sticking out of the too-small blanket. That’s all I needed.
I turned my handle, the door swung open, and Sean fell onto my bedroom floor. I stared at him while he blinked at me blearily from his prone position

AAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH I love this one so much. I hope you do too. It will need a few more rounds of edits, but it's amazingly whole and alive. I think I will publish it before next spring if all goes well.

Which do you prefer?

For my mother, because she wanted to see my happy birthday to me outfit, got the linen jacket done. Yay! Also the red riding hood felt doll ...
